Abstract
In seismic tomography unlike medical tomography, only limited projection data are available over a limited range of angles. Also, the cost of acquiring tomographic projections is much higher. It is desired to minimize the number of projections required for given image quality and resolution. We show in this paper that power spectral equalization and Wiener filtering can reduce the artifacts introduced due to the limited number of projections available in cross-borehole seismic tomography.
