Abstract
A proposed realization of non-recursive digital FIR filtersbased on the pipelined stored square ROM multiplier is presented. Implementations with a single multiplier and with a fully parallel realization of all multipliers are considered. Sampling frequencies can be obtained respectively in the order of several hundreds of kHz and about 15 MHz. Simulation results indicate that the filters obtained are comparable to those implemented using conventional digital multipliers when the stored square wordlength is 4 bits longer than the signal wordlength. All results stated assume the use of fixed point parallel arithmetic.
