Abstract
A distributed signal processor has been developed with the following objectives:
Efficient execution of signal processing functions such as Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filters, FFTs, beamforming
Easily programmed by systems engineers using a High Order Language (HOL)
Loose external coupling of the distributed signal processing elements to facilitate interconnection/synchronization
Utilize VLSI. The distributed signal processor is comprised of bus interconnected signal processing elements which are programmed using a high order block diagram/processing graph oriented notation.
