  • Abstract
The context of multi-actors routine design requires the capitalisation of cognitive (know, know-how) and documentary knowledge (catalogues, diagrams, abacuses). This paper proposes a model on three levels of knowledge allowing to share data, knowledge and information during the phases upstream of the design, in particular the functional definitions which precede CAD geometrical models. This model, namely "MULTI" model, authorises the project task succession and their distribution between actors implied in the design process according to their roles. It has been tested in a previous research on the functional design of the power-assisted steering systems. To validate the concepts suggested and verify the model genericity this paper focuses on the compatibility of the model with other design domains such as the functional design of the car air-conditioning system. Research issues on the integration of different models are discussed in the conclusion.
