Abstract :
The results of a study on melanin pigments are presented. Advantages of super-high-frequency (SHF) diagnostics in combination with optical spectroscopy and some chemical methods are shown for analysis of the melanins. It is found that origin and structure determine a wide spectrum of melanin parameters. Possible applications for protection against radiation and gene-toxic effects are discussed.
