Abstract :
In this paper the results of the design of high-power klystrons with a reduced collector potential are presented. It is shown that application of regeneration in klystrons used in the output amplifiers of TV transmitters makes it possible to increase the klystrons´ efficiency up to 1.8-2.0 times. The aim of this paper is to create microwave electrovacuum devices (klystrons and TWTs) for TV and communication systems by use of the basic technologies. The energy-saving is obtained due to an efficiency increase. Those devices will replace the devices being exploited at the present time. The devices developed have the following advantages over the present ones: 1) 1.7-2 times higher efficiency compared with the simple design for klystrons. 2) Miniature design for TWTs.
