Abstract
The possibility of using the quasioptical waveguide modeling (QWM) method for experimental study of backward scattering polarization characteristics of physical objects and their scale models in the near millimeter (NMM) region of the electromagnetic spectrum is investigated. The quasioptical polarimetric micro-compact range (PMCR) has been developed and carried out for realizing the QWM method. The microwave part of the installation was built on the basis of a hollow dielectric waveguide (HDW), quasioptical devices, and transmission-line elements. The results of measurements of amplitude-phase backward scattering patterns (BSP) for a tested object for various polarizations bases are presented. For comparison purposes, corresponding theoretical numerical modeling data showing the possibilities of the QWM method are given.
