Abstract :
In view of the importance of earth-rock allocation problem during the construction of water resources and hydropower projects, this paper develops an expert system for earth-rock allocation management (ESERAM) based on knowledge engineering (KE). We present the framework of ESERAM and introduce relevant theories and technologies from knowledge acquisition, knowledge representation and reasoning machines. ESERAM works based on abundant domain knowledge and reasoning approaches as an expert does. It manages and optimizes the earth-rock allocation system as a whole. At the same time, the construction of the knowledge base and reasoning machine are used to accumulate and pass the domain knowledge.
