  • Abstract
A 765 kV system was introduced to the Korean power system. Two transmission lines were completed in 2000 and 2001, respectively and they operated as 345 kV lines until the 765 kV substation completion at the end of 2001. We performed test runs until April 2002 for the line and substations, when commercial operation was due to begin. System prospects at the time of the feasibility study, system characteristics obtained from simulations for various operating conditions are shown in this paper. Future operation planning is also discussed.
