  • Abstract
    The subject of the cost reduction of 66/77 kV transmission line arresters is discussed. In order to expand the application fully satisfying the large demands in 66/77 kV class, the remarkable cost reduction is needed. To realize this subject, the following concepts and technical resources would be applied in the future: (1) Light duty specification, which neglects the direct stroke to the power line. (2) The small and light-weight design with new silicon rubber (3) The application of the recent technological progress such as higher discharge energy capacity and higher gradient technology.
