Abstract :
This paper focuses on two aspects of survivable, fault tolerant, mobile wireless networking: 1) dynamic IP affiliation and connectivity amidst router (base station) failures; and 2) quality of service based-mobility and routing. In both cases, we discuss the protocols developed, and we evaluate their performance using discrete event simulation. The processes and protocols developed represent enhancements to our previous work in base-station oriented tactical networks. We also discuss implications for scalability.
