Abstract :
Digital television terrestrial broadcasting (DTTB) has been developing rapidly in recent years. In this paper the channel characters of the DTTB are described. Then a channel coding architecture adopted in the DMB-T (terrestrial digital multimedia/television broadcasting) protocol is presented. This scheme introduces turbo code and turbo-TCM code into DTTB. Simulation results of C/N threshold and bit-error-rate (BER) curves with QPSK and 64QAM modulation have also been shown for this architecture. Compared with other schemes in existing international standards, a conclusion can be drawn that the channel coding scheme presented in this paper has better performance.
