Abstract
We study the bit error rate (BER) and mean transmission number (MT) of HARQ for RS-turbo concatenated codes, based on the theoretical analysis. The results show that the code combining of HARQ for RS-turbo could yield reliability improvement. We discuss various schemes of HARQ for the RS-turbo concatenated codes and compare their performance by theoretical analysis and computer simulation. Especially MT and BER of different schemes are simulated over an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel.
