Abstract :
The modified Hamming bound for unequal error protection (UEP) codes is derived. Based on the code symbol separation vector of UEP codes, we derived the large weight error pattern correction criterion for a given UEP code. The criterion is also valid for non-linear UEP codes. Furthermore, the modified Hamming bound for UEP codes can also be applied to non-linear UEP codes.
