Abstract
OFDM is used in wideband wireless LAN. It is a powerful modulation technique that increases bandwidth efficiency and simplifies the removal of distortion due to a multipath fading channel. Important considerations of OFDM systems (including channel estimation, system performance, and added one-tap equalizer) are verified by simulation and it is shown that different influences in the transmission fading environment can be overcome. Our results show that the OFDM system can greatly improve system performance and robustness in the indoor wireless environment with phase noise and multipath fading; the new equalizer is effective.
