Abstract
Proxy cache is an effective means to reduce Internet congestion and facilitate user access to WWW resources. Many WWWeb users repeatedly access specific Web pages through links. This wastes caching space and unnecessarily increases Web traffic. We propose a novel reconstruction technique to alleviate this problem. On the basis of the user´s access history, auxiliary navigation information is appended in the hit page copies returned to him. By interacting with the proxy cache server, the user can shortcut the linkage sequence and reach his target pages more quickly.
