Abstract :
The paper presents a method to simulate the organization mechanism of auditory never fibers with different spontaneous discharge rates. A high-response bank (HRB) of critical-bandpass filters is adopted to simulate high-spontaneous rate auditory fibers and a low-response bank (LRB) of critical-bandpass filters is adopted to simulate low- and medium-spontaneous rate fibers. The phase-locking pattern of responses produced by this process is consistent with the physiological results with respect to spontaneous discharge rates of auditory never fibers.
