  • Abstract
An impulse noise detection method for decision-based or switching filters is presented, which uses one-dimensional Laplacian operators. Fuzzy logic has been used to further improve the performance of the proposed detector. Extensive simulations show that the proposed methods provide better performance than the existing techniques. The non-fuzzy method also has the advantage of computational simplicity.
