Abstract :
The purpose of this paper is to compare the difference in impact and quality of wavelet filters in comparison with JPEG by plotting the SNR versus Bpp. The wavelet filters used are Daubechies and Symlets. The compression simulations are done on three different types of test images (natural, synthetic and text). The qualitative and quantitive results of these simulations are presented.
