Abstract
In this paper, a 2.2 kW 3 φ -3 φ matrix converter for AC motor application is presented. The control strategy and hardware design are described. In order to achieve the sinusoidal average input currents and output line voltages, the space vector technique is applied in the control strategy. The modulator is implemented with DSP and PLD (programmable logic device). Sinusoidal input and output currents with low harmonics are achieved. Some experimental results are given and the performance of the matrix converter is discussed.
