Abstract :
Presents LMI-based design techniques for dynamic output feedback controllers with guaranteed H2 cost in the linear continuous-time system set up. The technique may handle special requirements put on the controller such as robustness for polytopic uncertainties in the system matrices, stable controllers and reduced order controllers. The conditions are sufficient in general, but the well known results for the standard H2 control problem are recovered if the above special requirements on the controller are removed. A numerical example is used to show the potential of the proposed design technique.
