Abstract :
In order to solve the problem of device integration for police cruisers Project54 created a modular, scalable system for the integration of in-car electronic devices. The system provides for both hardware and software integration of the devices. The system has a standard and safe speech-based user interface that allows hands-free and eyes-free operation of in-car devices. The New Hampshire State Police started using the system in its cruisers and will install it in all of the cruisers in its fleet starting in the summer of 2002.
