Abstract
Multiuser detection in DSL systems has recently gained some attention. Several methods have been proposed and they provide a significantly increased data rate. However, there are several issues that must be resolved in order to realize the asserted improvements. These issues include the frame synchronization of the different users. We analyze the issue of frame synchronization in a multiuser DSL environment. We propose a novel method to solve this issue that utilizes DSL specific characteristics to overcome obstacles that make the general problems difficult or intractable. Then, the performances of the proposed scheme are analyzed.
