Abstract :
The aim of this paper is to examine the effects of the nonlinear distortions introduced by high-power amplifiers (HPAs) in the downlink of direct-sequence code-division multiple-access (DS-CDMA) systems. By modelling the nonlinear distortion noise as coloured Gaussian noise, a semi-analytical expression for the symbol-error rate (SER) of linear multiuser detectors (LMDs) in frequency-selective fading channels has been derived. Simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the theoretical approach.
