Abstract :
We propose a robust multiuser detector which combats multiple access interference and noise of unknown distribution in CDMA systems. The detector follows the M-estimation concept of robust statistics, except that the influence function is modelled as a weighted sum of a set of basis functions and is estimated from the observations. Simulations show that performance is improved in impulsive noise compared to conventional and previously presented non-linear schemes.
