Abstract :
Due to the dynamic behavior of network traffic, suitable congestion control remains a critical issue, especially for multimedia communication. In contrast to the typical increase-by-one, decrease-to-half strategy used in various schemes, we investigate a general approach in which the increase and decrease values are parameters. We observe the exponential behavior of the round-trip delay. Thus, we propose an exponential increase in order to consider the influence of the round-trip time on the throughput. A general model of high-order control is achieved that overcomes the problem of using constant additive increase while improving good smoothness and convergence of congestion control.
