Abstract :
In this paper the authors propose a new computational approach to calculating the refractive index of the quantum wells of a quantum well solar cell (QWSC) device. The new approach takes into consideration the presence of an electric field perpendicular to the quantum well layers. The model is based on the Modified Single Effective Oscillator (MSEO) model. This model is dependent upon three specific parametric equations. The relationships between these equations are used to generate the theoretical model. Computational analysis for a hypothetical quantum structure is performed with any discrepancies in the approach discussed.
