  • Abstract
    Smart card integration in the Internet is growing in interest. However, most of proposed architectures focus on request-response interaction model, which limits the management of smart card mobility and intermittent connectivity. We propose an alternative approach, that is, the publish-subscribe model. This model is particularly suited to achieve decoupling of interacting peers. We have designed a publish-subscribe layer for the smart card that implements the SmartTP communication stack, which can be seen as an ultimate Internet node. We have given special attention to the security requirements that are natively achieved by smart cards.
