Abstract :
We analyze average delay times and elapsed times of traffic generated from mobile hosts in a mobility-supported system or a wireless network system, where the traffic class is divided into three types of new connection traffic, handoff traffic, and information data traffic. We suggest a queueing model for the mobility-supported system, where the AP, the router, and the agent are modeled as M/G/1 with three types of priority queues allocated individually for three types of traffic. Based on the suggested model, we propose the elapsed time of data traffic in terms of the number of cells, the number of routers, arrival rates of three types of traffic and the service rates of AP/routers/agents. To analyze the influences on the elapsed time with respect to the arrival rate of three types of traffic and the service rate of devices, some examples are given.
