Abstract
The use of pressure-particle acceleration sensors, sometimes referred to as P-V sensors, is examined for their application in passive acoustic localization. Advantages and disadvantages are discussed and, in particular, their impact upon the Matched-Field problem is discussed. An example using simulated data is given where it is shown that the use of P-V sensors can provide an improvement in behavior in the presence of noise over the case of using pressure sensors only.
