Abstract :
Wavelength-type collinear acousto-optic devices are investigated for applications to wavelength-selective matrix switches for photonic switching and IP routing. The devices have the features of wavelength selectivity and simultaneous controllability of multiple optical wavelengths over a wide wavelength range of more than 100 nm. The dynamic switching characteristics of optical pulses by SAWs are numerically studied using FDTD simulation method.
