Abstract
This paper presents a all-digital antenna array approach using direct band-pass or RF sampling, where an eight-channel system is fabricated in hardware and field tested. Measured results include direction finding for interfacing signals using both conventional digital beamforming and MUSIC algorithms. In all cases, the MUSIC direction finding algorithm clearly shows the angle of arrival whereas conventional digital beamforming exhibits some uncertainties in its angular power spectrum.
