Abstract :
Measurement of the sound direction for a multi-sound field is a fundamental technique to be developed in the acoustical measurement. For this purpose, this paper proposes a microphone array system to measure multiple sound directions by using Genetic algorithm. The system consists of a three-dimensionally spaced microphone array, successively connected FIR filters based on wavelength constant matrix. This system can detect the original sounds in a complex sound field under the condition that sound directions are known. On the other hands, incorporation of an optimum processing based on Genetic algorithm into this system makes it possible to estimate sound directions by evaluating fitness given by an detection error. The numerical simulation for one and two sounds showed that the proposed system was fundamentally valid in the previous paper. In this paper, it is shown that the system is applicable to the practical measurement in an anechoic room for six angles of three sounds.
