Abstract
In this paper, we present an arrayable silicon on sapphire receiver, which as part of an interconnect, can simplify routing of high bit rate signals. The receiver has a small footprint of 40 μm×70 μm in a 0.5 μm ultra-thin silicon on sapphire (UTSiTM) CMOS process and low power consumption of 7 mW per channel. Our results show good operation up to 1 Gbps data rates.
