Abstract :
In this paper, an efficient feedforward implementation scheme for joint carrier and frame synchronization in MPSK systems is presented. By inserting a unique word in the beginning of each frame, a fast carrier synchronization is achieved without requiring extra computations for the frequency estimation. The phase synchronization is also achieved by exploiting the unique word for initial phase acquisition followed by phase tracking. The proposed scheme is simulated for 8PSK demodulation showing its effectiveness and low implementation complexity.
