  • Abstract
    The paper presents a low cost switched capacitor filter compensator for power quality enhancement and harmonic mitigation of computerized networks with nonlinear temporal electric loads. The power filter/capacitor compensator unified scheme provides an effective way to enhance power quality, reduce harmonics and waveform distortion for computerized low voltage utilization networks characterized with a temporal nonlinear switch mode power supplies (SMPS). The new unified switched filter capacitive compensator (USCS) is an extension of a family of static compensators, electrical energy saving devices and switched/modulated passive filters developed by the first author.
