Abstract
The study of evaluating and minimizing the electromagnetic field effects of power transmission lines running through built-up areas has gained significant concerns. This paper used previous formulation based on a powerful computational method for calculation the electromagnetic field in three-phase system. This work provides finite difference method (FDM) equations based on five-point formula, and presents the first and second derivatives on the boundary using more than two grid points on one side of the boundary in order to improve the accuracy of approximation. This paper describes observation and analysis of electromagnetic field in proximity of Al-Qaseem Saudi tower transmission line, and investigates the feasibility of magnetic field reduction by optimisation of phase relationship in 3-phase systems.
