Abstract
This paper presents the issues of interconnecting distributed power generators (DPGs) with electric grids and summarizes the recent development in standards for interconnecting DPGs with electric power systems. Common requirements for typical DPG interconnections are described in three categories: general specifications and requirements, safety and protection requirements, and power quality requirements, based on interconnection standards currently existing and under development in Canada and internationally.
