Abstract :
We consider a compression system for memory correlated binary sources using irregular LDPC codes as source codes. In order to incorporate the hidden Markov model (HMM) defining the source correlation, we propose a modified density evolution algorithm. Irregular LDPC codes optimized with this algorithm achieve a performance close to the theoretical Slepian-Wolf limit.
