Knowledge Base Grid and its application in traditional Chinese Medicine

Knowledge Base Grid enables worldwide sharing and coordinated using of knowledge base resources, which distributed around the Internet. By constructing large-scale web knowledge bases, Knowledge Base Grid supports on-demand and intelligent services satisfying personal needs and expectations such as personal health consultation. In this paper, we introduce a generic knowledge base grid for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Its framework consists of three main parts: Virtual Open Knowledge Base in which TCM knowledge has been well organized, Knowledge Base Index that indexes the TCM knowledge services, and a Semantic Browser that supports TCM concepts browsing and TCM knowledge management. The implementation of TCM Knowledge Base Grid includes TCM knowledge representation and service hierarchy.
