Abstract :
Although there are some existing results addressing the deadlock avoidance problem in assembly systems with un-reliable machines, there is still a lack of research for assembly processes with alternative production routes and failure prone machines. This paper extends our previous results to cope with unreliable resource in assembly systems with routing flexibility. Our results include: (1) a controlled assembly Petri net with alternative routes (CAPN-AR) for assembly processes (2) a liveliness condition for CAPN-AR and (3) a deadlock avoidance algorithm.
