Abstract
This paper describes the results of a use context and requirement analysis for an user interface concept mobile devices in the domain of industrial automation. As a result of this analysis, advantages for the use of mobile devices in the domain of service and maintenance were recorded. A usability test showed that a user interface on the basis of these requirements is a support for the service and maintenance personnel during their daily work.
