Abstract
A 4-patch CPW-FULL antenna array, fed through CPW lines with multiple UC-PBG matrices is presented in this paper. The multiple UC-PBG matrices are designed to work as phase shifters between the elements of the array. By changing the number of lines in the PBG matrix of each element it is possible to perform beam steering. The antenna structure presented here is applicable to 3G communication systems and is designed to operate at 2.45 GHz, with a beam steering step of approximately 45°.
