Abstract :
The dispersion-tuned swept laser (DTSL) is a fast and wideband swept source applicable in swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT). However, it suffers from coherence degradation at high sweep rates. The coherence in the DTSL, which can be improved by pulse modulation in place of sinusoidal modulation, is demonstrated. A coherence length of 8 mm is obtained at a sweep rate of 50 kHz using 100 ps pulse modulation.
