Abstract :
The 42 V based architecture is being considered for automotive systems as the technical solution for improved emissions, lower fuel consumption, and for meeting the need for higher electrical power on-board the vehicle. In this paper, the functions requiring more electrical power, the reasons for selecting 42 V, the architectures proposed, and the limitations of the 42 V systems are presented.
