Abstract :
We present 14° vertical farfield 14xy InGaAsP/InP ridge-waveguide pump lasers with >1 W CW output-power and 28% power conversion efficiency optimized by comprehensive multidimensional modeling without need for sophisticated materials or processes. Fiber coupled power reaches more than 450 mW.
