  • Abstract
    We demonstrate superior performance of phase shift-keying (PSK) modulation format versus conventional on-off keying (OOK) format. Binary PSK yields 4.2 dB SNR improvement. Quadrature PSK format allows DWDM transmission over 1000 km at 0.8 bit/s/Hz spectral efficiency.
