Abstract
This study describes a wavelength conversion method that exploits the spectral separation and reassembly that occurs during the evolution of N=2 or N=3 solitons. This method involves breaking the temporal degeneracy of the sub-pulses by introducing one of three perturbation type at the soliton period midpoint. These include loss elements, bandpass filters, or dispersion steps.
