Abstract :
This paper presents a novel single-stage active clamped PFC converter. The proposed circuit operates with zero voltage switching realized by an active clamped circuit. In the experiment, the proposed converter achieved power factor of about 0.97 and maximum efficiency of 84.9%. In addition, the improved PFC converter with auxiliary winding of the transformer is proposed to suppress the voltage increase on the primary smoothing capacitor under light load. The converter displayed good performance in the experiments.
