Abstract :
We previously proposed a synchronous rectification method using a saturable current transformer in the rectification circuit of a DC-DC converter. This paper describes a novel synchronous rectification circuit that uses a saturable current transformer, and the circuit has a better synchronous rectifier turn-off period than that of a conventional one. We analyzed operations of the circuit in this work. In addition, we verified operations of this method applied in a buck converter, boost converter,etc., and demonstrated its effectiveness when two or more converters operate in parallel. Our intention was to clarify the characteristics of the method.
